A wife, mother of five, a former Catholic School teacher, and a Creighton Model FertilityCare Practitioner.  Each aspect of her life has a unique story all its own. Shortly after being accepted as a candidate with the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles, Marianne was diagnosed with lupus in 2003 and spent the rest of that year praying about God’s direction for her vocation.  Two life-changing pilgrimages to Hanceville, AL and Poland brought her incredible encounters with Mother Angelica, the Divine Mercy, and our beloved Polish saints – Maximilian Kolbe, Faustina Kowalska, and Pope John Paul II.

Upon meeting her husband Gary in 2004, she realized quickly that the journey God was taking her on would be full of unexpected twists and turns – and pleasant surprises.  A passionate advocate of courtship, Marianne has witnessed first-hand how a man can truly win a woman’s heart and treasure her for the gift that she is.  In response to the many requests for them to share their story, she and Gary founded As He Loves Ministries in 2009 and devote much of their ministry involvement to promoting purity among young people and those who want to know what God wants for their relationships.

More recently, Marianne has chosen to leave her career of 14 years in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles at the junior high and high school levels to continue homeschooling their children.  She is actively serving part-time at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church, and Catholic Charities of Orange County as a FertilityCare Practitioner due to the great need for women and married couples to understand and appreciate the gift of their fertility in the context of God’s will for life and love.  Gary has since returned to athletic training at Loyola Marymount University with 6 years experience of being an amazing stay-at-home dad under his belt.

It’s a busy life they lead, but every day they are reminded how their “New Beginning” is a witness of hope to their children and their Church.  Drawing from Scripture, the lives of married saints, and Blessed Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, Marianne and Gary teach that pure and holy love is possible today…that godly men and women are out there…and that God’s beautiful plan will unfold before our eyes if we just let Him love us FIRST.
